Last night when I put Elijah in bed, I prayed for him and leaned over to kiss him. Then he sat up and said, "I pray now. You don't help me." Then he folded his hands, closed his eyes, and said, "Jesus, thank you for choo-choo trains, loud loud choo-choo trains. Thank you for the swimming pool. Amen." So there it is. His first prayer all on his own.
For those of you who want to "hear" how he said it:
"I pay now. You no welp me. Jesus, nank nu a tutu tain, wowd wowd tutu tain. Nank nu a simmin poo. Mamen."
