One of our first field trips was to the Pinehurst Fire House since Rodgers was studying fire safety in Health class. The kids had a great time climbing all over the fire truck, seeing the bunk rooms, the kitchen, the workout room, the classroom, the BIG tv room. Fireman Rick was a great tour guide and answered all of our many questions. Rodgers is still working on our fire escape plan from the house. As of right now, we all have to jump from the second floor window since we don't have a ladder. I'm hoping a truck comes and someone carries me down if there ever really is a fire! Rodgers was also quick to point out to Papa that while it may not be that far of a jump for him, "it is really far when you are small!" Maybe Papa will buy a ladder soon.
Thanks Fireman Rick!
Oh, one funny thing we didn't take of a picture of was the firemen's clothes all in piles. The kids finally figured out that no, it wasn't the rapture, they were just left like that for easy access when they were rushing out the door!
