Busy summer update - 1

To say I've missed a couple blogs would be the understatement of the year, but I do want to try to catch up on some things and post a couple pictures, so here are some highlights:
Aunt Linda mailed us some bulbs to plant in the front yard, so Kylie and Daddy did.  Kylie faithfully watered her plants, and thankfully we saw sprouts come up very quickly.  She was ecstatic!  It became her routine to run down out of her room every morning and right out the front door and across the yard in her pajamas to check on her plants.  She is still very proud of them.  She is definitely the flower lover and maybe the only green thumb in the family...well maybe her daddy, too.  We might not have any flowers around here if it weren't for her.

We went to the beach with my family in June.  Rod didn't get to come because of work, but the rest of us enjoyed Oak Island!  The whole crew from Pittsburgh came down, too.  We even had a surprise baby shower for Aunt Courtney and
Uncle Ian to help them get ready for little Peyton Elizabeth.  Elijah tried out some of the gifts, and we played some games.  It was fun, and hopefully Ian and Courtney and baby felt loved!

Elijah actually had a pretty rough week at the beach because he was getting 2 teeth.  So he and I had some long nights, and he and Nana and Papa had some early walks on the beach.  Thank goodness for grandparents who love cuddle times!  I definitely decided that parenting is too hard to do by yourself, and wished Rod could've been there!
